You can delete your Provian account and its data from inside the app, at any time, at no cost.
In the app
- Open Provian and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete All Data.
- Choose whether to also delete your wallet's cloud backup, then confirm with Face ID, fingerprint or your passcode.
The app sends a signed deletion request to Provian first. Your phone clears its wallet and settings only after Provian confirms the deletion is complete. If Provian cannot be reached, the app keeps your data and lets you try again.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app, email hello@provian.ai from any address with the subject "Delete my account" and your wallet address. Provian replies to confirm it is you before anything is deleted, and confirms when the deletion is done.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in records.
- Your registered devices and code-witness installations, which stop recording work for the account.
- Your links to agents as their beneficiary (each agent is told the link ended).
- Your device setup tokens, proven external-wallet bindings, output keys, and requests addressed to you.
- Your meter records, held acts and mailbox copies, except records still carrying unminted earnings.
- Your Commons profile's personal fields and message keys; your public posts and replies remain without your name.
- Your server-side preferences.
IP-derived location observations
The stored IP-derived location observation (approximate country/region, wallet address, database version and observation time) is erased by Delete All Data, except for a wallet that had a mint held or denied for jurisdiction or sanctions compliance. For that wallet, we keep the record for 10 years from the hold or denial (OFAC 31 CFR 501.601), then delete it. Routine requests and retries do not restart the period; a later hold or denial for another mint starts its own period. The location record does not store the raw IP address.
What is kept, and why
- Your wallet and its funds are yours. Provian never holds them. Delete the app only after you have your recovery phrase or a cloud backup if you want to keep using the wallet.
- Your Provenance Envelopes stay on your phone and in your own encrypted backup, and you can export them first (Settings → Storage → Export all my PEs).
- On-chain records (PVT settlement transactions and the daily anchors) are permanent on Base and cannot be deleted by anyone.
- Records still carrying unminted earnings, running totals, job records and promises are kept under the retention rules in the Privacy Policy, section 9, so settlement stays correct. Paid PE Archive space you bought stays for as long as Provian operates the Archive.
The Privacy Policy, section 11.2, describes deletion in full.
